OFFERINGS
Ypsi Clay House will soon open its doors! Sign up below to receive occasional updates on opening events, class registration and more.
CLASSES
Ypsi Clay House will offer a variety of classes from beginner to advanced, both handbuilding and wheel throwing. Classes will be 6 weeks long and $250 which will cover the cost of clay, glazing and firing. Upon opening Ypsi Clay House will exclusively offer hand building classes with the hope of offering wheel throwing as soon as possible.
OPEN STUDIO
Already have a ceramic practice just need the space? Looking to pick up where you left off? Come hang out at open studio nights. Every Friday from 5pm-10pm you will have shared access to the studio. There won’t be a formal structure to this time but Anna will be around to answer any questions you may have. A studio visit is required before attending open studio.
PRIVATE EVENTS
The space can comfortable fit 6-8 people with additional outdoor space available for use in the warmer months. Birthdays, staff parties, date nights and more, if you’ve got an event in mind we’d love to host it.
CLAY CLUB
Can’t commit to a 6 week class but wanna get your hands on some clay? Clay club will be hosted once a month, think book club but for clay. We’ll come together and casually make, chat and get to know each other. Clay Club will be open to all levels of experience. Limited to 5lbs of clay. Donation based, all proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund for students wishing to take a class.
KILN RENTALS
Already have a studio set up but nowhere to fire your work? Bring it here! Ypsi Clay House has one bisque kiln (7.5 cubic ft.) and one glaze kiln (5.5 cubic ft.) Bisque kilns will be fired to cone 04 and glaze kilns will be fired to cone 6. If you’d like to fire to a different temperature you will have the option of renting an entire kiln. For the safety of the space and the health of the kilns, prior to renting a kiln, all clays and glazes must be pre approved.
WEEKEND WORKSHOPS
Stay tuned for one off weekend offerings. These workshops will be an opportunity to gather in community, try a new technique in ceramics and just have fun. I’m thinking glaze parties, pit fires, drop in wheel workshops and more.
